15th August 2022 – 6:34 amJH at TUC fringe 2010 The Institute and the United Campaign to Repeal the Anti-Union Laws held a joint fringe meeting at this year’s TUC Congress in Manchester on the theme of FIGHTING UNFAIR CUTS RESISTING UNJUST LAWS Speakers included: Donnacha De Long, NUJ; Prof Keith Ewing, IER; John Hendy QC, IER and United Campaign; John McDonnell MP Chair: Carolyn Jones, IER The fringe was opened by Carolyn Jones of the IER who gave an introduction to the theme ‘Fighting Unfair Cuts; resisting unfair laws’ and invited speakers to give their views on where trade unionists should go from here.

15th August 2022 – 6:34 amTUC Fringe Meeting 2009 The Institute of Employment Rights and the United Campaign held a joint fringe meeting at this years TUC Congress in Liverpool. Speakers included: Brian Caton POA; Keith Ewing IER; Tony Kearns CWU; John Hendy QC IER / UC Len McCluskey UNITE; Mark Serwotka PCS; Sarah Veale TUC; Matt Wrack FBU Chair Carolyn Jones IER The meeting was well attended with over 150 delegates turning up to hear the speakers. The fringe was opened by Carolyn Jones of the IER who gave an introduction to the theme ‘Politics Has Failed’ and invited speakers to give their views on where trade unionists should go from here. John Hendy QC’s contribution was published later that week in the Morning Star
